Information
Concept design for the Sydney Design festival 2009.
Great design can be said to be born of head, heart and hand. Regardless of medium, the designer strives to balance these core elements to achieve great design. Being a professional designer means, in part, that we adopt strong values that are at the core of how we practice.

“All creative professionals—architects, fashion designers, writers, gardeners—(must determine) where on the form/function scale [their] work will fall. Some insist that style is everything. Others insist that purpose is everything. But many of us fall somewhere in the middle, trying to make the beautiful workable and the practical attractive.” Mark Oldach, Designer

HEAD
The “Designer” might be better described as “Problem Solver” specifically within the realm of how elements are arranged and presented.
HEART
The heart helps the designer and viewer catch ideas using emotion, instinct and intuition.
HAND
The hand helps us make the idea into something tangible. It carries notions of craftsmanship, of skilled execution and expertise.
