Information
Sydney Film Festival is New South Wales' pre-eminent showcase for contemporary cinema from Australia and around the world. The 2009 Sydney Film Festival ran for 12 days, generating an attendance of almost 120,000 ticket-buyers.

The 2009 festival campaign was based upon the playful message, ‘Don’t Try This at Home’. Building on an idea to encourage film lovers to get off their couch, throw away their pizza and get the real deal’. The campaign encouraged audiences to attend the Festival by taking an irreverent look at what happens when people attempt to stay at home to get the same experience as they can by attending the cinema.

The campaign was hugely successful and 2009 marked the most successful year in the Festival’s history with attendances increasing by 43% and daily sales figures by 40.0% on 2008.
